In a world of SEO that is full of uncertainty and cannot be predicted 100% accurate, it is too simple if the question is whose fault is it, whether the client is wrong or the SEO service provider is wrong. Not infrequently, when SEO results do not match expectations, disputes occur between clients and service providers, or even some say SEO vendors as fraudsters.

Just like SEO service providers in general, we also have certainly experienced such complaints. Even though we ourselves are SEO service providers, we will try to review this topic in a balanced and objective manner.

First understand the nature of SEO: Uncertain and not necessarily successful

Each party, especially clients who are still lay, must first understand how SEO works in outline (not technically). In the world of SEO, the service provider (vendor) must explain at the outset that SEO cannot be guaranteed 100% success. As vendors, we can only try, not make sure. And throughout our observations, almost all SEOs in Indonesia have provided this information.

From the client side, expectations should not be too high. That is, want to quickly see the results and think that if you already use SEO services would be OK. If it’s like this, in the end you can be disappointed. Google itself states that SEO companies cannot guarantee the ranking of a website on Google:

Each SEO consultant may have different service conditions from one another. In essence, these provisions must be explained to clients from the outset, do not have the gray and multi-interpretation (tricky).

The client must also understand carefully all the provisions from the beginning, and if there is something unclear that must be asked in advance, do not have to run this complaint later. Using SEO services is not as simple as buying hotcakes, which just pay and settle.

When SEO Fails, Who’s Wrong?

Without intending to find fault, but it does exist under certain conditions one of the parties that caused the error to occur when the SEO campaign is running.

The error is on the part of the SEO if (including but not limited to):

– Perform SEO techniques that are blackhat SEO

– Disrupted your website coding clutter to mess and lots of errors

– Blocking websites from Google Search Console or robots.txt

The error is on the client’s side if (including but not limited to):

– The website is not according to Google’s rules, and does not want to change it

– Expectations are too high, do not understand the nature of SEO and do not want to know the provisions of the vendor

– Do not want to be involved for things that are needed, just want to know something wrong
