Long Tail Keywords techniques that drive massive traffic to your website

We’ve been pounding the drum with long-tail keywords for a long time. Recently, I clarified why it’s too hard to rank for competitive keyword phrases on a new website.  In the meantime, keep trying to pursue more specific, less competitive, long-tail keywords. 

Long-tail keywords that you find could be used as the title and main theme for a strongly focused blog post or article (or video, or infographic, or some other form of content) or could be used as variants to help optimise a longer guide or article targeting a primary keyword – for example, by using long-tail keywords in your sub-subheads and image file names. And if you’re doing niche ad strategies, super-specific long-tail keywords are going to be your best mate. But where are you going to go to locate such traffic-and lead-driving long-tail keywords? Here are the 5 tips from SEO agency Malaysia to get you off. 

  1. Using the Google Recommendation 

Google Recommendations is a terrific source of long-tail keyword variants. Only start typing the primary keyword in the Google search box to see what Google’s variants suggest. If it pops up with a recommendation from Google, you know it’s a word people are looking for. These ideas would not actually encourage your confidence in humanity, however they will inspire good material. 

  1. Using the related searches of Google 

Same idea as the Google Recommendations that show when you type in your query, except these recommended relevant queries appear at the bottom of the SERP, below the first page of the Organic Results: you might get a little more suggestions here (in this instance, eight keywords vs only four above), and they may also be somewhat more customised.

Your analytics will inform you several, if not all, keyword phrases that direct traffic to your website. Through searching into these keyword referrers, you’re going to be able to find a lot of long-tail queries that generate traffic for you. These keywords may be important to your company but are not yet heavily aimed at a specific page on your web. For eg, a few years ago, we noticed that a lot of people were looking for the term “what a good click through rate” to end up on our web, but we didn’t have a page with that title, so we wrote one, and now it’s driving a lot of traffic.

To find your own private long-tail keyword shop, go to your analytics and locate your organic keyword keywords (in Google Analytics, the route is Traffic Sources-> Sources-> Search-> Organic). You can basically search all the phrases for strong, appropriate long-tail keywords that you can convert into material, or you can set the time frame to something fairly broad (depending on the traffic flow, try a 3-, 6-, or 12-month period) so that you have a tonne of data to look at, and then look for trends. For eg, you may want to search for query keywords (i.e. phrases that start with “what,” “why,” etc.).

If you’re operating an AdWords PPC campaign, don’t forget to use your Search Query Report the same way you’d use your analytics, only one of the many forms that PPC data will inform your SEO Malaysia. Your Search Query Analysis tells you the search queries that helped users click on your advertising, rather than the results of your organic search. As an additional advantage, you have fuller access to this data than your organic referrers do in Google Analytics. It will also be simpler to see which keywords are driving conversions, not just traffic. High-converting long-tail keywords are particularly worth pursuing.

Questions are major long-tail keywords – it couldn’t be more clear that these people are searching for answers and knowledge. Of course, you’ll want to do some keyword analysis to find the variant of each query that has the right search volume and degree of competition. Not every query you encounter on the Q&A platform would be a worthy keyword to strike. 

  1. Browse Wikipedia

Is Wikipedia the most optimised website on the Internet? It’s up there, certainly. You will gain a lot by copying the on-page optimization of Wikipedia. When you’re doing simple term analysis, consider checking the Wikipedia article. 

Many of these headings transform into long-tail keywords (‘the past of quantum mechanics,’ ‘the mathematical formulation of quantum mechanics,’ ‘the implementation of quantum mechanics,’ etc.). You may also search the page (Control-F) for your primary keyword to see what other variants exist in the text. In addition, the “See also” segment at the bottom of certain Wikipedia posts can be useful for locating clusters of similar words. 

Concluding remarks 

Long-tail keywords are not as simple as many people believe they are. By that, I mean, low-volume keywords aren’t inherently easier to rank than high-volume keywords. Often they’re part of a far wider subject, and Google shows the same results for the “unpopular” long-tail variation as they do for the “head” keyword. Paying attention to these information would help you successfully target various forms of long-tail keywords and receive a lot of traffic from Malaysia SEO.
